As well as a quick and convenient way to find mercs and mixes, mixmercs is also a great way to gain experience of playing at a higher level and make new friends within the TF2 community. ETF2L is your favourite league and updates
Well, a massive 78% of you voted ETF2L as your favourite TF2 league, Wireplay a distant 2nd with 17% of the votes and UKeSA and ESL joint third with a measly 1% of the votes each. I don't know what this says for Enemy Down and TheSGL as not one person voted for them :(
Recently Valve released a new way to receive unlockable items which coincided with the latest Spy and Sniper update. Basically there is no point in working hard to get achievements as you no longer need to reach milestones in order to unlock new weapons / items. The unlockables are now totally random and will be given to you on an ad hoc basis during playtime - the main problem with this is that the system does not seem to know or care if you already have a particular unlockable so you may get the same item 3 or 4 times in a row (I now have 4 ubersaws). Apart from being slightly unfair (as some players have 3 or 4 huntsman bows) the system just seems so random its frustrating. To reflect this we will be posting a poll to see how many of you think its a great idea and how many of you think that it sucks.

We need a sponsor!
Jonni from Fakkel Brigade who is actually a mixmercs admin has kindly supplied us with a channel in the FB mumble murmur server with 5 separate mix channels.
After our previous sponsor pulled the plug due to shutting down one of their dedicated servers we are now looking for a sponsor who will provide us with a TF2 server for the use of our mercs. mixmercs is a great way for players to find mixes and get good experience playing with higher skilled players so we will be putting emphasis on promoting competitive TF2 to players who want to push the game further. Our channel is very popular with players from all levels and some well known clans looking to mix so if you rent out servers as part of your business it could be good advertising in the TF2 community (especially if you offer good deals ;)). We will obviously promote you in our steam group, on the website and in our irc channel as well as on the TF2 server itself.
